A Message from the Principal

Happy February!

February is National Library Lover's Month. What a great time to pick up a book and read with your child. Research shows that kids who are read to become better readers and have better vocabulary than those kids who are not read to. It also helps to build a reading habit for your child.

Reading to your child each night helps set the stage for a good night's rest and is an opportunity to model that reading is important. It is also a great time to bond and who doesn't love a good snuggle! Some of my favorite memories are those spent with my girls reading them bedtime stories.

Here is a list of some great February read alouds for primary age kids.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Attending school every day is important for primary-age students because it helps them build strong learning habits and keep up with new skills like reading, writing, and math. Regular attendance also supports social development by giving children chances to practice sharing, listening, and working with others. When students come to school consistently, they feel more confident, stay connected to their teachers and classmates, and are better prepared for future learning.

 Activites

Kids Heart Challenge!

We are excited to kick off our Kids Heart Challenge on February 5th! For those who may be unfamiliar, this event encourages students to raise funds in support of the American Heart Association.

Students will have the opportunity to earn incentives along the way, and any student who raises $50 or more will earn a chance to throw a pie at a teacher —a student favorite!

Thanks to our amazing community, we raised an incredible $13,000 last year, and we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together this year!

Valentine's Day!

We will celebrate Valentine's Day on February 12th. Be on the lookout for more information from your child's teacher. Please remember that all goodies are store bought! Thank you!

Lost and Found

As the weather gets cooler, please make sure to send your child with clothing that is appropriate for the weather.

Please make sure to label coats, hats, and gloves so we can return them to the correct owners when they are forgotten around the school.

We know items are expensive to replace and parents are welcome to come in any time and look for lost items in our lost and found.
